I fell victim to this virus on 11/08. It rendered my computer virtually useless. I didn’t attempt to provide any bank info, as I sensed it was fake, but it did it’s damage anyway. I spent over 10 hours on the phone with the techies from Dell, and had to spend about $175 to have them thwart this thing remotely after 3 attempts. I wish I had known about the above remedy sooner (but had no way to access it at the time). I’m kicking myself now for allowing my virus protection to lapse. I feel sorry for anyone who falls victim to this thing :(
